Event Details

Touch is the primary gateway by which all infants learn emotions; positive versus negative psycho-neurophysiological states including safety/happiness, fear/anxiety.  When infants and parents touch screens instead of each other they are altering healthy socio-emotional and cognitive development. Brain pathways that usually form through touch either do not develop or develop differently; a form of neuronal pruning or neuronal Darwinism wherein objects become more important than people and anxiety becomes paramount.
